Xander Great creates and shares electronic music for people who believe the future is worth dancing into.
Based in Wels, Austria, he’s a DJ, producer and visual artist whose sets are built like stories rather than playlists. No matter if it’s the dreamy glow of Melodic House, the uplifting, energetic pull of Trance or the driving energy of Techno, the genres shift, but the thread never does: every set is one continuous arc, designed to carry a room into another dimension, from the first record to the last.
That sense of storytelling extends to what you see. A trained media designer, Xander Great builds his own audio-reactive visuals that move and morph in real time with the music, so no two performances ever look the same. It’s a deliberate extension of his brand: a futurist vision of a world that uses technology for good and humanity reaching outward toward the stars. He wants people to leave a show with a big smile and a positive feeling about where we’re all headed.
The roots run deep. Xander Great fell for electronic music through the early records of Armin van Buuren and Tiesto, with a parallel love of rock, feeding his ear for energy and emotion. He taught himself to mix on a cheap turntable and a stack of vinyl at 17, then stumbled into production years later when a copy of GarageBand on his first Mac turned into an obsession. What began as something he did purely for fun grew serious enough that he went on to study at London’s renowned Point Blank Music School.
He earned a residency at Austria’s Club Nova, playing regularly and, on one memorable night, warming up and closing out for a well-known Austrian DJ-and-MC duo from the country’s legendary Nachtschicht era. He’s the kind of DJ who’ll happily play a hometown community night purely for the love of it and the kind whose afterparty set at Austria’s biggest darts tournament once had someone on the dancefloor trying to hand him cash, just so the music wouldn’t stop.
After ten years working as a frontend developer, Xander Great is now going all-in on the dream he’s carried since he was 17, building his audience through regular uploads and an in-the-making vlog across YouTube and live streams, with his debut single currently taking shape in the studio. The long-term goal is the one he’s always quietly held: to fill clubs and reach festival stages, to release on the labels he grew up loving, and one day to play Tomorrowland.
Whatever the room, the mission stays the same: to share the music he loves, and to send everyone home with a smile, shaky feet and a shared vision of the future.
